These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of StorageUnits.com and the related websites, customer accounts, reservation features, artificial intelligence tools, communications, content, and customer-support services that link to these Terms (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are provided by Storage Results Group, LLC (“StorageUnits.com,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Important
StorageUnits.com is a marketplace for finding and requesting reservations at independently operated storage facilities. Reservations through StorageUnits.com are free. Storage facilities - not StorageUnits.com - confirm availability and final pricing, enter into rental agreements, collect rental payments, and provide storage space. Please also review Section 21 (Disclaimers and Liability) and Section 23 (Dispute Resolution and Arbitration). Section 23, if enforceable, provides for individual arbitration and includes a class-action waiver and an opportunity to opt out of arbitration.
1. Acceptance and Changes
By using the Services, creating an account, uploading content, contacting us, or requesting a storage reservation, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information and is separate from these Terms.
We may update the Terms to reflect changes in our Services, law, or practices. We will post the updated Terms with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where required by law. Material changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise permitted by law. Your use of the Services after revised Terms become effective signifies acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
2. Eligibility and Authorized Use
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to make a reservation or open an account. You may reserve a unit for someone else only if you have that person's authorization to provide the necessary information and act on their behalf. Information you submit must be current, truthful, and complete.
The Services are intended primarily for personal use and legitimate business storage inquiries. We grant you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the Services for their intended purposes, subject to these Terms. You do not acquire ownership rights in the Services or any underlying software or database.
3. StorageUnits.com Is a Marketplace, Not Your Storage Facility
StorageUnits.com provides a search, comparison, inquiry, and reservation-request service for third-party self-storage facilities and, where listed, parking and vehicle-storage spaces (each a “Facility”). Unless expressly identified as such, we do not own, operate, inspect, maintain, manage, lease, secure, or control the Facilities or their units. We are not the landlord or storage operator and do not take possession of your property.
Facilities are responsible for their own personnel, site conditions, security, access, policies, services, rental decisions, and compliance with applicable law. No agency, partnership, fiduciary, property-management, or landlord-tenant relationship arises between you and StorageUnits.com merely because you use the Services. A Facility may have its own terms, privacy practices, and cancellation rules.
4. Free Reservations and Facility Confirmation
Making a reservation through StorageUnits.com costs you nothing. We do not collect the rent, security deposits, or other rental payments charged by a Facility through the Services as currently offered. You normally pay the Facility directly when you complete the rental or move in.
A reservation request is not itself a lease or a guarantee that a particular unit, price, promotion, access date, amenity, or feature will be available. Reservation acknowledgments reflect information transmitted or received by our systems; the Facility remains responsible for confirming the actual unit and terms. Facilities may contact you to verify details, request additional information, or offer a comparable alternative. Please confirm your reservation directly with the Facility before making travel, moving, or other arrangements.
You agree to submit only genuine reservation requests. You are responsible for providing a working telephone number and email address and for promptly correcting errors. We may decline, cancel, or flag a request when reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, duplicate or abusive bookings, technical errors, or unlawful activity. The Facility may independently decline or modify a rental in accordance with its own policies and applicable law.
5. Prices, Promotions, Fees, and Unit Availability
Listings may include rental prices, discounts, estimated unit sizes, promotions, inventory, availability, taxes, amenities, and fees supplied by Facilities or third-party inventory providers. Such information can change, contain mistakes, or become outdated. All advertised prices, offers, promotions, and availability are subject to confirmation by the Facility. An online listing does not obligate a Facility to honor an erroneous or expired rate except where applicable law requires otherwise.
An advertised rent may be an introductory or limited-time rate. The amount due at move-in or afterward may include items such as administrative or setup fees, required or optional protection plans or insurance, locks, taxes, deposits, late charges, or other Facility charges. Any applicable charges should be disclosed by the Facility and, where required, on the relevant listing or reservation page. You are responsible for reviewing the full cost, the promotion's duration, future rent changes, and the Facility's policies before signing a rental agreement.
StorageUnits.com does not establish a Facility's final charges, collect its rental payments, or control its billing practices. Any payment dispute, refund, rate increase, or late-fee question arising under the Facility's rental agreement should be addressed directly to the Facility, without limiting rights you may have under applicable law.
6. Rental Agreements, Access, Security, and Stored Property
Your rental relationship begins, if at all, when you and the Facility enter into a separate agreement under the Facility's procedures. That agreement - not these Terms - controls rent, occupancy, move-in requirements, access hours, prohibited goods, insurance, liens, auctions, facility-specific cancellation rules, and the storage of your belongings.
Before renting, inspect the actual space where practical and verify its dimensions, door opening, ceiling height, climate-control features, accessibility, security measures, and any special rules. Facilities may have restrictions on vehicles, fuel, batteries, hazardous materials, food, firearms, valuables, living in a unit, and other uses. We do not insure or protect items stored at a Facility and do not guarantee the security, cleanliness, weatherproofing, fitness, legal compliance, or condition of any Facility. Consider whether additional insurance or other protection is appropriate for your property.
7. Listing Information, Images, Rankings, and Advertising
Facility descriptions, photographs, maps, reviews, unit diagrams, amenity descriptions, square footage, and other listing content may be provided by Facilities, customers, licensed sources, or third parties. Photographs may show a representative unit rather than the exact unit available to you; unit dimensions and square footage are generally approximate. An advertised 10' x 10' unit, for example, may have usable dimensions that vary by building design, fixtures, or other conditions.
Search order and recommendations may consider location, availability, pricing, features, quality signals, customer interests, and commercial relationships. Some placements may be paid, featured, or sponsored; we will provide disclosures where required. A ranking, badge, review score, or recommendation does not constitute our warranty, certification, inspection, or endorsement of a Facility. You should verify information that matters to your decision.
8. AI Space Estimator and Photo-Based Size Recommendations
StorageUnits.com may offer an artificial intelligence-assisted space estimator that accepts photographs and/or an item inventory and suggests a storage unit size (the “Space Estimator”). The Space Estimator provides an informational estimate - not a precise measurement, professional space plan, or guarantee that your belongings will fit. Its calculations may rely on assumed or predetermined typical item dimensions, approximations from photographs, and automated recognition that can overlook or misidentify objects.
Actual space needs can be materially different because of factors including: the real dimensions and quantity of your belongings; how securely and efficiently items are packed or stacked; whether beds, tables, shelves, and other furniture are disassembled; whether boxes can bear weight; fragile or irregularly shaped objects; the height, shape, columns, and obstructions within the unit; door dimensions and turning clearances; whether you want an aisle or access to items during storage; pallet or shelving requirements; facility stacking or fire-safety rules; and items hidden or not visible in uploaded photos.
For these reasons, a recommendation of any particular size (including a 5' x 5', 10' x 10', or 10' x 20' unit) may be too small, unnecessarily large, or otherwise unsuitable. You are responsible for measuring important items, assessing your packing and access needs, and confirming the usable dimensions and suitability of the actual unit with the Facility before renting. We are not responsible for moving expenses, extra rentals, damaged property, delays, or other losses arising from reliance on an inaccurate estimate, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.
Only upload photos that you own or are authorized to use. Do not intentionally upload identification documents, financial information, medical records, private images of others, or other sensitive material unrelated to evaluating storage needs. Images may reveal possessions, people, addresses, or other personal information. Their handling is described in our Privacy Policy. The Space Estimator may be changed, suspended, or withdrawn at any time.
9. AI Chat and Automated Assistance
Our Services may include automated chat, conversational agents, or AI-generated responses. These tools can provide general storage guidance, answers about listings, or reservation assistance, but may generate incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate responses. Automated assistance is not professional advice and cannot modify a Facility's lease, promise a specific unit or price, waive a Facility's rules, or guarantee a reservation.
Where information is material to your decision, confirm it against the current listing and with the Facility. An automated response does not bind StorageUnits.com or a Facility unless we or the Facility expressly confirm the relevant commitment through an authorized process. Do not submit information to AI chat that is unnecessary to your request. We may provide human assistance when available but cannot guarantee human review of every interaction.
10. Customer Accounts
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for actions taken through your account, except to the extent caused by our failure to meet applicable legal duties. Do not share passwords or access another person's account without authorization. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts or restrict functionality for security, suspected misuse, material violation of these Terms, or other legitimate business reasons. You may request account deletion using the methods in our Privacy Policy, subject to records that must or may be retained for legal, security, or operational reasons.
11. Text Messages, Emails, Automated Calls, and Call Recording
If you provide contact details in connection with an inquiry or reservation, we and service providers acting for us may send communications reasonably related to that inquiry or reservation, such as confirmations, status updates, move-in reminders, service messages, and responses to support requests, to the extent permitted by law and supported by any consent that is required. We may use automated systems and, where lawfully authorized, artificial or prerecorded voices, including AI-generated voices, to make calls. Your mobile carrier may charge message or data rates.
Marketing communications are different from reservation-service communications. We will obtain prior consent for promotional texts or automated/artificial-voice marketing calls when required by law, using a separate, clear consent mechanism where appropriate. Consent to receive marketing calls or texts is not a condition of making a free reservation. The specific consent disclosure presented where you provide your number controls the type of messages and calls for which you authorize contact, subject to applicable law. We will honor valid consent revocations and opt-out requests as required by law.
You can generally reply STOP to opt out of texts from the applicable sender, or HELP for assistance, and may use unsubscribe links in marketing emails. You may also contact us through the information in Section 25. An opt-out from marketing will not necessarily prevent essential nonmarketing communications when those communications remain lawful. A Facility may communicate with you directly under its own lawful practices, and you may need to opt out with that Facility separately.
Calls or chats with us may be recorded, monitored, or transcribed for service, quality assurance, security, training, dispute resolution, or documentation, subject to legally required notices and consents. Where required, we will provide a recording notice and obtain the consent needed before recording begins. If you do not want to participate in a recorded call, tell the representative or use an available alternative contact method. Your continued participation alone will not be treated as a substitute for consent where the law requires more.
12. Reviews and Ratings
We may display reviews and ratings obtained from third-party platforms, renters whose experience is verified, and customers who submit reviews directly to us. Sources, dates, verification methods, and review populations may differ. We may label reviews by source and indicate when a review is verified. We do not promise that every review is accurate or that a Facility's posted score predicts your experience.
If you submit a review, it must reflect a genuine experience and your honest opinion. You may not impersonate another person, submit false or misleading reviews, conceal a material relationship with a Facility when disclosure is required, or accept compensation conditioned on a positive or negative sentiment. We may screen, organize, reject, or remove reviews for fraud, irrelevant content, privacy concerns, unlawful material, or violations of published guidelines. We will not intentionally misrepresent our displayed reviews as all submitted reviews when that is not the case or suppress genuine negative reviews solely because they are unfavorable.
Reviews supplied by outside platforms may be governed by those platforms' rights and terms. Ratings, sorting, and displayed review counts may change over time.
13. Uploaded Photos, Reviews, and Other User Content
You retain any ownership rights you have in photographs, messages, reviews, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant us and the service providers acting for us a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license, for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described below, to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, and process User Content to operate the feature you requested, provide support, maintain security, and comply with law. For reviews and other content you intentionally submit for publication, you also authorize us to display, distribute, and adapt that content as needed to publish it in connection with the Services, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
Uploading photographs solely for the Space Estimator does not grant us permission to publicly display those photographs as reviews, advertisements, or Facility listings. The treatment of such uploads, including AI provider processing and retention, is further addressed in the Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to provide User Content and that it does not unlawfully infringe another person's rights or expose another person's private information.
We may remove or restrict User Content where appropriate but have no general obligation to pre-screen everything that users submit, except as required by law.
14. Prohibited Conduct
You may not: (a) submit fraudulent reservations or knowingly false information; (b) use bots or automated means to scrape, bulk copy, harvest contact information from, or overload the Services without our written permission; (c) interfere with security, reverse engineer software except where expressly allowed by law, or distribute malicious code; (d) impersonate another person or violate someone's privacy or intellectual property rights; (e) use the Services to harass, spam, discriminate unlawfully, or distribute illegal content; (f) manipulate review scores, rankings, promotional offers, or reservation systems; or (g) use the Services in violation of applicable law or these Terms.
We may investigate suspected abuse and take proportionate action, including restricting access, removing content, cancelling suspicious requests, or cooperating with lawful investigations.
15. Ownership and Intellectual Property
The StorageUnits.com name, website design, software, proprietary data, graphics, logos, compilations, and other materials furnished by us are owned by or licensed to Storage Results Group, LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Facility names, trademarks, photographs, and other third-party materials belong to their respective owners. Except for the limited permission to use the Services, no rights are transferred to you.
16. Copyright Complaints
If you believe material on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice containing identification of the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, a statement under penalty of perjury as to accuracy and authority, and your physical or electronic signature to [email protected]. We may remove material and, where appropriate, terminate repeat infringers. If we seek statutory safe-harbor protection, we will also complete any applicable designated-agent registration requirements.
17. Third-Party Websites, Maps, and Services
The Services may link to Facility websites, review platforms, mapping tools, AI providers, advertising partners, and other third-party services. Those parties may have separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of third parties, to the extent permitted by law. Inclusion of a link or technology does not necessarily imply endorsement.
18. Privacy and Personal Information
Our Privacy Policy describes categories of personal information collected, including reservations, calls, chat interactions, photos, device identifiers, and advertising events, and explains disclosures, retention, and privacy choices. You should review that policy before submitting information or using photo-based or AI features.
19. Service Availability, Modifications, and Termination
We may change, discontinue, or restrict features; correct errors; revise listings; or maintain and suspend systems without guaranteeing uninterrupted access. We may terminate or limit access for violations, fraud, security risks, legal requirements, or discontinuation of a feature. Where reasonably practical and legally required, we will provide notice. Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature should survive, including accrued rights, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute resolution.
20. No Professional Advice or Guarantee
Educational articles, storage guides, measurements, cost comparisons, risk information, AI-generated assistance, and other guidance are offered for general information. They are not engineering, insurance, safety, legal, valuation, moving, or other professional services. Use your own judgment, read the Facility's policies, and consult qualified professionals where needed. We do not guarantee that reliance on content will prevent damage, loss, injury, or additional expense.
21. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES AND THEIR CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. We do not guarantee listing accuracy, rental rates, Facility performance, unit availability, storage conditions, the results of the Space Estimator, or the accuracy of AI assistance.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORAGE RESULTS GROUP, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, MANAGERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOSS OF PROFITS; LOSS OR DAMAGE TO STORED PROPERTY; RELOCATION OR MOVING COSTS; OR LOST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICES OR THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF INDEPENDENT FACILITIES.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) $100 OR (B) THE AMOUNT, IF ANY, THAT YOU PAID DIRECTLY TO STORAGE RESULTS GROUP, LLC FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Rental payments made to a Facility are not payments to us.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, statutory rights, or other liability to the extent it cannot legally be excluded or restricted. These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, except where prohibited by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
22. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Storage Results Group, LLC and its personnel and representatives from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising from (a) User Content that you submit; (b) your unlawful use of the Services; or (c) your material violation of these Terms or a third party's rights, except to the extent caused by our own unlawful acts, negligence, or other conduct for which indemnification is prohibited by law. We will provide reasonable notice of covered claims and cooperate in the defense at your expense, subject to applicable law.
23. Dispute Resolution, Individual Arbitration, and Class-Action Waiver
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS HOW DISPUTES BETWEEN YOU AND STORAGE RESULTS GROUP, LLC ARE RESOLVED.
Informal resolution. Before beginning arbitration or a lawsuit (other than an eligible small-claims action), either party will send a written notice describing the dispute, the relevant facts, and requested relief to [email protected]. We will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days after receiving a complete notice. Any limitation period is tolled during this 30-day process to the extent permitted by law.
Individual arbitration. Except for claims eligible for small-claims court and claims for temporary or preliminary relief to protect intellectual property or prevent unauthorized access, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved through final, binding, individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its applicable Consumer Arbitration Rules (available at adr.org), subject to applicable law. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this arbitration agreement. A neutral arbitrator may award any relief available to an individual under applicable law. Filing fees and arbitration costs will be allocated under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules and applicable law. Arbitration may proceed by documents, telephone, video, or at a reasonably convenient location consistent with those rules.
Class-action waiver. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND WE AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS AGAINST EACH OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate separate individuals' claims or preside over a class proceeding absent both parties' agreement, except as required by applicable law.
Opt out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement (but not the remainder of these Terms) by sending an email with your name, the email associated with your account or reservation (if any), and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration to [email protected] within 30 days after first accepting these Terms. We will honor timely valid opt-outs. If you opt out, covered disputes may be brought in court subject to applicable law and the other provisions of these Terms.
Courts and severability. If arbitration does not apply, either party may bring an individual claim in a court of competent jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer-protection and venue laws. If the class-action waiver is held unenforceable as to a particular claim or requested remedy, that claim or remedy will proceed in court to the extent legally required, with the remainder of this section enforced to the fullest lawful extent. The remainder of this section is severable to the extent permitted by law.
24. Governing Law and General Terms
Except where superseded by federal law, mandatory consumer-protection law, or the arbitration provisions above, these Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. For litigation that is not subject to arbitration and where an exclusive forum is legally permissible, the parties consent to the state or federal courts located in Newark, Delaware.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent possible. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, reorganization, financing, or sale of our business, subject to applicable law; you may not transfer your rights without our consent. We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These Terms, together with any additional terms validly presented for a particular feature, form the agreement regarding your use of the Services and do not alter your separate rental contract with a Facility.
