What size space do I need for my boat and trailer?

As a rule of thumb, a bass boat or small runabout on its trailer needs about 20' to 25', and most pontoons and bowriders need 25' to 30'.

Can I get covered or indoor boat storage in Longboat Key, FL?

The boat spaces on this page are open outdoor parking, starting at $35 a month. For covered or enclosed storage, try a nearby city or call a facility to ask what's coming available.

Covering your boat protects the gelcoat, canvas and electronics from UV damage. That makes a real difference if it'll sit for a season.

Can I keep my boat in a regular storage unit?

If your boat is on the small side, yes. 13 facilities on this page have units 20' or longer, from $77 a month for a 10' x 20'. That's big enough for a jet ski, a kayak trailer or a small fishing boat.

Check the door width and height before you reserve, and remember that most facilities don't allow gas cans or spare fuel inside a unit.
