For a classic, a convertible or anything stored more than a few months, an enclosed unit is the safest bet.

Most facilities ask that the car is registered, insured and in running condition, and some want proof of each at move-in. You usually can't work on the car on site or store extra fuel.

Before you leave it, fill the tank and add fuel stabilizer, top up the tire pressure, and think about a battery tender. Wash it too, because dirt and bird droppings eat at the paint over time. 2 facilities on this page let you complete the paperwork online before you arrive.
